MONOPRINTS are created in much the same fashion as monotypes, but incorporate a plate that contains a matrix or design that is repeated in each print. The unique quality of each monoprint tends to come from the handling by the artist. For example, an artist might change the ink choices or layout of the print while still employing the original template, which could result in a print having a very different overall effect. |
